** NASN...National Association of School Nurses  held their national convention in Phoenix, Arizona on June 28-July 1,       2001. This was a great opportunity to attend because it was so close.  The following school nurses represented Clark County:  Karen Ryan, Donna Canfield,  Dori Pro, Cindy Koziol, Donna Mattson, Judy VanCleve, DeAnn Baker, Pat Westmoreland, Sandra Lockey, Christine Forsberg, Deborah Cole, Andrea Kenney, Diana Taylor, Sally Jost, Virginia Smith, Kim Rakow, and Yvette Wintermute.

The CCSNO Board(officers) voted unanimously to grant a stipend to send one member to the 2001 NASN Convention.  The recipient this year is Christine Forsberg.  The Board will formalize an ammendment to the bylaws to continue to support one member's attendance every year.

There is a delay in the "Adopt a Road" Program.   The school nurse section of Desert Inn Road is between Decatur and Valley View and will have a sign designating our organization. We will announce our "care-taking" responsibilities as soon as the highway "clean up" program is resumed.

The first T-shirt order has been processed.  Check this web site for time and location of pick-up.

The Spring Picnic was held on May 12, 2001 and all had a wonderful time.  Mark your calendars now for the Christmas event to be held at Alexis Park on Saturday, December 8, 2001. Reserve your ticket(s) with a $10.00 deposit to Ellen McEvoy or Marie Benninger.

Congratulations to all of our "partakers" of the National Certification for School Nurses examination.   The results are coming in as we speak. THE NEWS LOOKS GOOD!!
